Open SCAG Committee Position
OCCOG appoints 12 county representatives to SCAG Committees. On April 25, 2017, Councilmember Trish Kelley and Mayor Cecilia Hupp were selected by the OCCOG Board of Directors to serve on SCAG Committees.
There is currently 1 vacancy, due to the resignation of Councilmember Bert Hack of Laguna Woods. OCCOG is seeking interested elected officials from OCCOG member jurisdictions to serve on a SCAG committee. Committee members selected the committee they are interested in serving, and notify the SCAG President who approves their appointment. Representatives serve for the duration of their time as an elected official, as long as their organization continues to be a member of OCCOg in good standing, and a member of SCAg in good standing. Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at SCAG's office in downtown Los Angeles. Letters of Interest for this vacancy were due June 16. OCCOG solicited interest from potential candidates via directly emailing City Clerks and City Managers as well as an email newsletter and posting on this website. A letter was received from Council member Ross Chun of Aliso Viejo. Councilmember Chun will be appointed at the August 24, 2017 meeting of the OCCOG.
2017 OCCOG Elections
Nominations have been received for 2017 OCCOG Board and SCAG District Representative elections. Only 1 nominee was received per district by the March 6, 2017 deadline, therefore OCCOG will not need to hold elections for 2017 OCCOG Board of Directors/ SCAG District Representative positions immediately preceding our April 27, 2017 Board of Directors meeting. OCCOG Board members serve on the SCAG regional Council representative their respective district. The following OCCOG Board/ SCAG District positions have been filled:

SAWPA ONE WATER ONE WATERSHED COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT
At the April 25, 2017 OCCOG Board meeting, Jose Solorio of Santa Ana was selected to fill the vacancy on the SAWPA OWOW Committee. The position carries a 4-year term.
