DISTRICT 13 VACANCY, SCAG Regional council seat open
OCCOG is seeking a representative to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Councilwoman Barbara Kogerman. The successful candidate must be a member of the city council in one of the SCAG District 13 cities (Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, or Rancho Santa Margarita). Nominations are now being accepted. Letters of Interest are due to OCCOG by August 6, 2018 via email to OCCOG Executive Director Marnie Primmer at firstname.lastname@example.org. If only one nomination is received the candidate will be appointed to fill the vacancy. If more than one nomination is received, an election will be held immediately preceding the OCCOG board meeting at 10:30 AM August 23, 2018. All council members from District 13 cities are eligible to vote, and voting may only be done in person. The candidate receiving a majority of the votes from council members present at the election shall be the successful candidate and will begin serving immediately. The term will last through April 2019.
The candidate should be able to attend OCCOG Board meeting the 4th Thursday monthly from 10:30-12 in Irvine and attend SCAG Committee and Regional Council meetings the first Thursday monthly in Los Angeles from 10-2.

Open SCAG Committee Appointment available
OCCOG currently has an opening for a representative to serve on a SCAG policy committee. To serve, you must be an elected official representing a member-in-good-standing of OCCOG and SCAG. The appointment duration is for as long as the member continues to serve in that capacity and their organization is a member of OCCOG and SCAG. The term the appointment will start immediately upon selection by the OCCOG Board.
If you are interested in serving in this role, and have the availability to attend monthly SCAG committee meeting on the 4th Thursday of the month from 10am-12 pm, please submit a letter off interest to OCCOG Executive Director Marnie Primmer by August 1, 2018. OCCOG will be making the appointment at its August 23, 2018 Board meeting, held at 10:30 am at Irvine City Hall. Interested candidates are encouraged to attend in person to present their motivation and qualifications.
